Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse
High Schoolers Ben, Carter, and Augie (Tye Sheridan, Logan Miller, and Joey Morgan) are set to head out on one last camp-out before dropping scouting all together; but, on this particular evening a bizarre virus outbreak appears to be turning all of the residents of their sleepy town to zombies. Aided by cocktail waitress Denise (Sarah Dumont) the gang will have to fend off the undead using their unique scouting skills to survive the night and find love, meanwhile the military is set to fire bomb the area in a matter of hours, are they too late?
Just in time for Halloween, Director Christopher Landon has created a loving sendup to all zombie horror. Sure, super snarky and too precocious for their own good our leads are total unbelievable caricatures, but lets be honest, this is pure zombie comedy horror. Staying true to rules of zombie, ingenious deaths, brainings, and sufficient gore spatter relentlessly. Meanwhile, spitfire one liners spew forth, and, clocking in at a whopping 93 minutes welcomes are not overstayed. Doing exactly what’s expected of a fun romping dark ride, fans of the genre will no doubt welcome this new cult classic into the fold. Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse is rated R.
