Moana

Realizing her island home is dying, princess to be, Moana (Auli’i Carvalho) sets out on a nautical quest to balance the heart of mother earth– no small task, in fact a job that will require the help of Demi-god Maui (Dwayne Johnson). But, what if Moana and Maui are already too late? moana Directed by a quad of minds, Ron Clements, Don Hall, John Musker, and Chris Williams, this empowering story has a lot to love, great message, great voices, a decent song, solid animation, and a splash of humor; but, perhaps because of its quartered direction also runs a bit slow and long, shoehorning in too many plot points in an attempt to unnecessarily pad things out. Regardless, the requisite number of chuckles and even a few pokes in the Disney eye keep this seagoing vessel afloat start to finish. Moana is rated PG.
