Table 19

Ex-maid of honor Eloise (Anna Kendrick) makes the difficult decision to attend the very wedding she’s been ousted from, the result, she’s seated at Table 19, a table made up of quasi-misfit guests who weren’t actually expected to respond “attending.” Now faced with her ex-boyfriend and the best man at the wedding, Teddy (Wyatt Russell), Eloise will need the composure and friendship of her fellow table mates to survive the event; but, just exactly how will that go down? Directed by Jeffrey Blitz and written by the infamous brothers Mark and Jay Duplass, this breezy and heartfelt dramatic comedy bathes itself in quirky character development and situational humor in a mostly familiar environment; which is to say, conventional norms aren’t necessarily broken, but enough charm and honest revelations make for a genuinely satisfying ride. A well chosen ensemble including Stephen Merchant, Lisa Kudrow, Craig Robinson, June Squibb, and Tony Revolori help to keep the ship on a swift tack, coming in just over 90 minutes of runtime you’ll still have time for drinks after on date night. Table 19 is rated PG-13.
